Times are definitely over that only seamen had that typical anchor tattoo on their arms. Tattoos are nowadays really becoming part of the mainstream culture and I can totally understand why. Not only clothes, shoes, accessories, make up and your haircut represent you, the newest way to show who you really are isn't that temporarily any longer. Tattoos are most of the time more personal and are mostly carefully selected by having a meaning or just reflect ones personal sense of style.
Here are some of my tattoo inspirations. I love all the different bird tattoos etc. But I am still more drawn to the word tattoos. Maybe, one day, I'll take the plunge and choose an awesome (philosophical) quote and get it inked. Maybe.
What about you? Do you have any tattoos or are you thinking about getting one? What would you get?

Three or four years ago I got my first tattoo...Now I have seven! I thought a long time about getting the first one - I mean, once they put that needle into your skin you will actually be marked for life! (Laser isn't for me...). But once that first one - a crescent moon on the inside of my left wrist - was engraved in my skin it just felt so good! Like a perfect way to record your life, likes, and dreams. I would never get a tattoo that doesn't mean anything to me tho. When I'm old and my tattoos are ugly and wrinkled, I still want to remember the beauty behind the picture, what it means to me! xox
ReplyDeleteI'd love to have a tattoo on me, but I'm afraid I make a bad choice! In fact the "permanent" thing makes me doubt everytime I have the impulse to get inked a little bit. But I love them, anyway.
ReplyDeleteSuch a great post, I really like it, tattos are so cool!
